About & Contact

A few of the things I love: espresso (& my espresso maker), authentic Greek salad (with plenty of feta, of course), my dad’s homemade spaghetti sauce, sticky toffee pudding (from Whistler’s infamous Rim Rock Cafe) and a good, generous pour of Gewurztraminer.

A passionate advocate of eating for pleasure and enjoyment (within reason, of course), I’m also a professional food writer. As the former author of a food column, “Epicurious?” in Whistler, B.C., writing for the phenomenal newsweekly, Pique Newsmagazine, I had the opportunity to dine at some incredible fine dining establishments, and learn much about the culinary world along the way. I’ve judged cocktail and sommelier competitions, and a variety of “Iron Chef”-style culinary throw-downs between some extremely talented chefs.

Here at EdibleLegible, I’ll be sharing some of my musings with my fellow food-lovers in the online audience at large. While I aim to discover some of the best, affordable places to dine in Nova Scotia (and abroad, should I be travelling), I’ll also be sharing experiences from my own home kitchen, as I love to cook…

** I am occasionally offered complimentary product samples and invited to restaurants to sample menus. If an offer is extended and I accept, a favourable review is in no way guaranteed. That’s just not how I roll. I’m also not a “food critic.” I’m not a trained/papered chef, and therefore, am not comfortable critiquing the work of someone who has trained for years and probably prepared far more meals that I will ever eat. I do, however, write about my own dining experiences, and happily offer my thoughts on what I liked, and what I didn’t!

Happy reading and eating! Cin cin!

  1. Hi, I am a sushi lover in Halifax. If you are trying out all the sushi joints in town, I suggest to check out E-Pin on Barrington St. They just started to offer sushi on their menu. I have tried their chef’s specialty menu. All items on it are very unique and yummy.

    • Hey Hollie (great name, BTW!) 😛

Thanks for your suggestions! I just visited their website and saw: 1) Mojito Mondays (count me in!) and 2) the local halibut (w/ snow crab nage, sunchokes, sultana and greens) sounds fabulous. May have to add to my list… 😛
